Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson REVIEW

SOURCE: LIBRARY

This is one of those books that people are either going to really enjoy and reread a couple of times, or want to burn.I personally really enjoyed it. I don't think there was a single page that made me feel bored about reading this book, so I finished this book pretty fast. I like how this book was written, it was funny, sad, and it made you feel that you were right there with Melinda. Of course, there are mixed reviews about this book, but I enjoyed it. Although, there was probably one part that I didn't like, and that was the ending. I think it concluded everything too fast. I would've wanted the author to explain a little more, like maybe Melinda patching up her relationship with her parents and actually talk to them, and resolve and explain things, and tell them what happened.

RATING: 4.5/5
COVER: 6/10

SUMMARY
When Melinda Sordino's friends discover she called the police to quiet a party, they ostracize her, turning her into an outcast -- even among kids she barely knows. But even worse than the harsh conformity of high-school cliques is a secret that you have to hide.
